It’s completely free, with a few restrictions. If you don’t want the restrictions, you can pay to remove them.

fotoLibra makes the contacts, negotiates the prices, handles all the backroom stuff (invoicing, paperwork, VAT etc) and pays 50% of net receipts. 

Average picture sale value is £51; the photographer gets 50% of that. Biggest picture sale: £2,200. Photographer got £1,100.

We have 345,976 images online, 18,345 registered picture sellers in 162 countries and 5,293 registered picture buyers. We have an online bookshop (an Amazon affiliate) curated by James Lake, formerly of the PC Bookshop.

Wasted at The Dorchester

I was invited by Real Impact Productions to attend the Chartered Institute of Waste Management Awards at The Dorchester this week. This event celebrated individuals, companies and local authorities who are doing much more than just talking about 'green' issues and was really interesting. I have long been sceptical about the 'save the planet' movement and the arrogance of those that think that we can control climate which has been changing continuously since the planet was born. That said, I have always supported efforts to stop wasting the natural resources that we rely on for the survival of our species on this planet while we are here. I find it impossible to reconcile a global economic system dependant upon consumerism with environmental responsibility as I said in my previous post. Some joined up thinking at government level is urgently required followed by action rather than talking shops.

Deborah Meaden, presenting the awards, made a very good point. She felt that this is an industry sector which seems slightly embarrassed and apologetic about managing waste and couldn't understand why. It is in the front line of one of the most important battles the world faces with positive effects on the health, wealth and happiness of the worlds population. They should stand up and shout proudly about what they are doing.
