There is a new, disruptive, global move afoot which will change the relationships between individuals and suppliers – for good.
Vendor Relationship Management (VRM) is the response to the ubiquitous and controlling CRM systems that enterprises have been using for years to collect and ‘capture’ information about you and me.
If an individual wants to transact in any way with an organisation online then they demand to know who and what you are. Try NOT filling in the information they ‘request’, maybe because it is not relevant to the service you require, and see how far you get. No info – no deal!
I was very pleased to be invited to participate in a meeting of user-centric visionaries hosted by the respected journalist and blogger, Doc Searls in Oxford earlier this month.
The other participants included Alan Mitchell (BCCF), Iain Henderson (Information Answers), Adriana Lucas (The Big Blog Company), Mark Lizar (Identity Trust), Alec Muffett (Sun Microsystems), Steve Lewis (marketing consultant and identity historian) and Mary Rundle and Marcello Thompson (researchers at Bailliol)
